The children born now and in the future have a far greater inborn capacity to restore ecological health to the earth and regenerate the human family with a culture of peace and beauty than familiar, traditional systems can begin to stimulate. The heart, the core transducer of quantum and cosmic interchanges, is at the heart of this work, which is dedicated to unveiling our true humanity, the indwelling, magnanimous genius.

OUR VISION
The long term vision of the Center For Living Ethics is children thriving in wild and cultivated nature, meaningfully engaged with living/learning, and embraced heart to heart by a dynamic community of models and mentors.
Established in 1986 on 6.65 pastoral acres in Fairview, Texas, the school now known as the Center for Living Ethics, has pioneered new ways to appreciate the fertile inner terrain of childhood in order to to evoke enthusiastic involvement with living/learning.
This is a heart-centered process. Far more than a metaphorical expression, the term heart-centered implies an approach that is scientific as well as loving, intuitive and co-creative. The scientifically validated consciousness in the heart is a powerful driver of ethical genius, and is nourished by the science/art of peaceful, ecological and thriving relationships. We think of this heart-centered process, which harmonizes inner and outer terrains, as The Harmonies Way.
OUR MISSION
The following ordering of the first four priorities of The Harmonies Way process expresses our mission:
- THE HEART - The centrality of the heart assures healthy, flourishing children, and optimizes intelligence. The heart, the first-to-form organ in the fetus, communicates with all organs of the body, including the brain. As the seat of intuitive perception it communes with subtle energetic fields. As a unifier of human beings, heart-intelligence fosters peaceful, co-creative relationships.
- THE FEMININE/MASCULINE BALANCE – Heart-centered relationships assure the balance of Masculine and Feminine. The restoration of the Mother Essence to learning environments necessitates children thriving in environments that embrace Childhood. Nature’s body/emotion/mind/spirit encompassing methods maximize healthy, joyous, intelligent and multidimensional development by means of children:
- Enjoying sacred connections in wild and cultivated nature
- Cultivating genius through individual creative/innovative expression
- Flourishing in a supportive, encouraging, dynamic communal embrace. As in the village, models and mentors, who are meaningfully and purposely engaged, attract young apprentices.
- THE SYNTHESIS OF SCIENCE, ART, AND ETHICS – As a unifier of multiple aspects of our humanness, the heart penetrates and dissolves the partitions that have been erected by institutional regimentation. The sciences, arts and ethics commingle in the heart’s curriculum as three mutually enhancing facets of joyous, meaningful learning.
- THE FOUR HARMONIES – Avant-garde science has opened humanity’s eyes to the shared energetic fields that qualify individual life. The human family is awakening to the powerful effect of these fields that are either discordant or harmonic. Attention to these realities is essential and determines the quality of future leaders making decisions that profoundly effect all life on Earth. The myopia resulting from traditional education’s partitioned subjects, competitive climate, and meaningless data accumulation has proven disastrous for our planetary home and the human family. The Four Harmonies as derived by Robert Muller, Undersecretary to the U.N., denote living/learning in reverent, respectful, responsible and responsive relationships embracing:
- Our Planetary Home and Place in the Universe
- The Human Family
- The Miracle of Individual Life
- Our Place in Time.
In harmony with the planet, we draw from Waldorf, Montessori, and other teaching modalities, to grow ourselves through focused development of the mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical being.
We are a cooperative community learning center for adults, families, and PreK-6th grade children located in Fairview, Texas north of Dallas and between Allen and McKinney.
