Thirty years ago, Robert Muller, Undersecretary to the U.N. was already urging humanity to offer the world's children a comprehensive curriculum stressing their relationship to the Earth and the Human Family. Robert Muller knew that this curriculum for the transformation of society must be made available to all the children of the world. The global implementation of this education of love and responsibility for humanity and the planet would require a unifying framework. In response to these
requirements, he outlined The World Core Curriculum and assembled the
discrete branches of science, the arts, and humanities under the auspices
of four interpenetrating spheres of life. The World Core Curriculum
approaches every subject imaginable as a dynamic part of the following
Four Harmonies (Our Planetary
Home and Place in the Universe; The Human Family; The Miracle of Individual
Human Life; Our Place in Time). In order to further clarify the scope and spiritual essence of the World Core Curriculum, The Founders of the original Robert Muller School added three additional tetrahedrons that are complementary to the Four Harmonies. These include: The Constitution of the Human Being (Physical, Emotional, Mental, Spiritual); The Four Premises (Sense of Fantasy, Sense of Choice, Sense of the Whole, Sense of Ordered Purpose); and The Four Atmospheres (Love, Patience, Understanding, Ordered Activity) . |
